Final presentation by students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Javanese Gamelan Ensemble, led by Michiel Niemantsverdriet (teacher) and Paul Schauenburg (assistant teacher).

The Javanese gamelan group is an ensemble in which students, from all different departments and majors, collaborate. In weekly rehearsals, students of this elective explore the acoustic world of bronze gongs, gong chimes and metallophones, and the unique tuning systems pelog and slendro.

The CvA students group will be supported by musicians from Ensemble Widosari. Widosari will also perform as a gadhon, a chamber ensemble with the soft sounding gamelan instruments only.
